It's not just Blackfriar's Bridge. TFL is a disgraceful and unaccountable body which takes it's powers from the Govt. of London Office (ex- Mini-Lon).

TFL behaves with utter impunity as if they were colonial masters. It's wrong.

I followed the implementation of the 'CS8' and it was shocking, pointless and dangerous. They did no consultation, it made the road worse for all users and cost over £10 million. How?

Their responses to my questions were appalling. The survey they sent out on the CS8 was jury rigged to only produce favourable responses.

It's been like this for a long while. I remember doing a study on the Congestion Charge for my politics MA and I could almost hear the shredders in the background destroying the information I needed which showed it was a regressive taxation on inner Londoners.

They have an appalling culture. A friend of mine did a temp job there listing file references on index cards. It was supposed to last two weeks. The first week he did nothing because the index cards had not arrive. He asked to go across to Rymans and buy them himself. Refused. The next week they arrived and he did the work in two days and then walked out because it was all so pointless.

The only solution is democracy in London. We need to pull down the power of the Govt. of London Office, we need to bring TFL under democratic control, we need to elect a Utilities Commissioner and we need to close down the Met and replace it with a reformed Police Service of London which hires locally and is democratically accountable.
